This has contributed to fall in crime in the area, with the latest figures showing, crime down -15% on last June and -24% on June 2023.

Burglary Arrest and Court Result

On Tuesday 15 July 2025, PC Tom arrested a prolific offender for burglary. The suspect was interviewed, charged, and remanded to court. Following court proceedings later in the week, the offender was found guilty and received a custodial sentence, alongside additional court orders and financial penalties to the victim.

Arrest of Wanted Suspect for Bag Theft

Our partnership with local CCTV operators led to the arrest of a wanted suspect linked to multiple bag theft offences. Although PC Tom was already dealing with another suspect in custody at the time, swift coordination with response officers ensured the suspect was detained. The officer later interviewed the suspect, who has been bailed pending further investigation.

Prolific Offender Arrested for Multiple Breaches

On Friday 18 July 2025, the officer again single-crewed an arrest, this time of another prolific offender for failing to appear in court, breaching court conditions, and breaching a community protection notice. Following a thorough custody process, the suspect was charged and remanded to court, where they were subsequently bailed to return later this month.

These arrests demonstrate excellent investigative work, persistence, and partnership working, resulting in offenders being held to account and banned from entering businesses within our BID area.
