Our Board of Directors represent the business community and oversee all aspects of the BID’s work, from security and sustainability, to promotion and social impact.
As we navigate our way through the early days of our fifth BID term, we are delighted to announce that three new representatives have joined the Team London Bridge Board. Sarah Gallo (News UK), Cllr Rachel Bentley (Southwark Council), and Simon Latham (City Bridge Foundation) are added to our dedicated governance group, supporting the executive team with expertise drawn from diverse fields and backgrounds.
Team London Bridge Chair Daniel Charles, of Network Rail, welcomed his new colleagues, “I’m delighted to welcome Cllr Rachel Bentley, Sarah Gallo and Simon Latham to the Team London Bridge Board. Each brings valuable experience and a different perspective, from business and people leadership to charitable funding and local government. Their knowledge and connections will be a real asset as we work together to support our business community and make London Bridge an even better place to work, visit and do business.”
News UK have recently celebrated their 10th anniversary in London Bridge and have around 4,000 staff in the area 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As Chief People Officer, Sarah is perfectly placed to help Team London Bridge respond to the needs of employees, day and night. Rachel is Southwark’s Executive Member for Inclusive Economy, Equalities and Democracy and we’re looking forward to tapping into her experience as an elected representative, local resident and supporting local businesses. Simon brings experience in charitable funding and a deep understanding of the challenges facing London’s communities through his work at City Bridge Foundation, London’s largest independent charitable funder. Being responsible for both Tower Bridge and London Bridge itself makes the organisation a perfect fit for a community that is bookended by these vital gateways.
The BID Board and executive team welcome our new colleagues and look forward to them being part of our work for many years to come.
