6th August, 12:30-13:15, London Bridge Hive, 8 Holyrood Street, SE1 2EL

In London Bridge we have been planting climate tolerant, biodiverse gardens for several years – and we now manage an acre of green space across about 13 sites, with Gold and Silver Gilt medals at London in Bloom and Britain in Bloom. Some of these are relocated show-gardens from RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Which garden has the most butterflies? We’d love to know.

Join us on 06 August at lunchtime to count butterflies for 15 minutes in one of our gardens.

Meet at 12:30 at the Hive, you will be given the materials and information you need.

You can also do this yourself at any time from 18 July to 10 August, more information here.

As we continue to green London Bridge with two new gardens added last year and another planned, we’re working to boost local biodiversity. This species count is key to proving we’re reversing the ecological damage of industrialisation.

We need volunteers to help make the count meaningful. The more we know about the species around us, the stronger our case for more green spaces and protection of existing ones.

If you’re especially passionate, you can join as a founding member of the Biodiversity Union of London Bridge (BULB), which will support the annual count. We hope to see many of you there ready to save our pollinators!
