Thursday 9th October, 12:30-13:30, Thomas Guy Statue, SE1 9RS
Led by London guide and wellbeing champion Sarah Williams-Robbins (Mrs Londoner), this guided walk offers the chance to experience the changing season in an urban setting. As autumn colours spread through London, participants will explore calm corners, award-winning pocket parks, and the diverse habitats that make city life more sustainable and liveable.
The walk will highlight the golden tones, crisp air, and rich textures of the season, celebrating the trees and plants that provide shade, oxygen, beauty, and striking autumn foliage. Along the way, Sarah will share stories of London’s fascinating past as the city’s “larder,” once home to trades from brewing to leather-making, while also pointing out hidden green spaces perfect for returning to on future autumn afternoons.
Taking place the day before World Mental Health Day (10th October), the walk offers a chance to slow down, recharge, and reflect on the importance of green spaces for both mental health and community wellbeing.
Meeting point: Guy’s Courtyard, next to the statue of Thomas Guy.
