Ode is a public artwork designed to enliven the heart of Holyrood Street, which runs parallel to the Bermondsey Street Tunnel, positioned directly opposite Nine Lives Bar.
Artist Trinity Tristan approaches her practice through themes of narrative, reflection, and escapism. Ode reflects her philosophy of an “anywhere but here” mentality—transporting viewers beyond the everyday and into an abstract world of beauty and drama.
The work was commissioned by Team London Bridge, Sweet and Chilli, and Southwark Council.
Trinity Tristan is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, costume designer, and director whose practice spans painting, collage, sewing, 3D printing, screen printing, sculpture, body prints, lenticular prints, and the written word. Having undergone gender reassignment in her early twenties, she became deeply engaged with ideas of trans fluidity and its associated traits. Her work has been exhibited at The Saatchi Gallery and featured in publications including Gasp.
