Visitors to the capital will once again be guaranteed a warm welcome this summer courtesy of our Infobike team who will be providing tourist information along the Thames river front every day in July and August.
The InfoBikes are a globally unique concept that represents an evolution of traditional tourism information centre. The InfoBikes are the official visitor information points operating every summer in London’s South Bank, Bankside and London Bridge. Relying only on pedal power to get from A to B, the environmentally-friendly InfoBikes pitch up at key locations between the London Eye and Tower Bridge to offer on-the-spot advice and recommendations to the huge numbers visiting the area’s attractions, cultural venues, outdoor events and festivals.
You may have seen the London Bridge InfoBike at the weekend already this year but during July and August it will be located close to Tower Bridge every day, 11am to 4pm. Each bike is staffed by two members of the team.
'Welcoming, targeted, informative and sustainable, the InfoBike service is exactly the type of initiative that post-Olympic London needs. Having supported the launch of the InfoBikes in 2008, London & Partners is proud that the initiative is now established as part of the Riverside London experience every summer, functioning as the go to provider of tourist information along a stretch of the Thames that attracts over 30m visitors per year,' Gordon Innes, CEO, London & Partners.
Former Visit London Award winners for Best Visitor Information Initiative and shortlisted for the TFL Smarter Travel Award for Best Marketing & Communications Campaign, the InfoBikes are managed by Impact on behalf of SBEG, Better Bankside and Team London Bridge.
