We are deeply saddened by the tragic events that took place in London Bridge on Saturday night and wish to express our sincere condolences to the victims and families of those involved.
Team London Bridge would like to thank the Metropolitan Police, British Transport Police, London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade for their immense bravery, efficiency and ongoing communication over the past 48 hours. We’d also like to commend the reaction of our businesses. The strong sense of community in London Bridge was evident in their actions, with many offering support to those involved, protecting the public and maintaining ‘business as usual’ where possible. The London Bridge area is a vibrant, enduring part of our city. For centuries it has drawn people from across the globe and our community will continue to provide a warm welcome to everyone who chooses to work, live in or visit this fantastic area.
Whilst we are shocked by the attack, in the current climate Team London Bridge have had to acknowledge that terrorism continues to be a serious threat and take necessary precautions. We have worked closely with our businesses, Southwark Council and the Metropolitan Police for many years to ensure the community has the information and tools it needs to stay safe, should an incident occur.
Our priority is to keep our businesses informed and we will notify you of any new information passed to us. We recommend signing up to our Security Updates and visiting the NaCTSO website as well as monitoring news channels and the @metpoliceuk, @LondonProtect, @TfLTravelAlerts and @nationalrailenq Twitter feeds. In an effort to relieve pressure on the police, if you do have queries or requests please email Henry Johnstone our Business & Operations Manager firstname.lastname@example.org and we will do our best to help.
We encourage those working in the area to remain calm and vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the Anti Terrorist Hotline on 0800 789 321.
Our community space, London Bridge Hive will be available from 6th – 9th June from 9AM - 5.30PM as a workspace for any businesses that cannot access their premises. We can accommodate up to 40 people on a first come first served basis.
The British Red Cross have set up an emergency fund that to provide immediate support to those who have been affected by the attack. Text UNITY to 70607 to donate £10 or visit www.redcross.org.uk/unity to donate other amounts.
