Over the past ten years Team London Bridge have collected thousands of gift donations from London Bridge employees. The charities we support each year have a big impact on the local community, working with the homeless, elderly, young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and those who struggle with mental health issues.
This year, the tradition continues, and we'll be collecting presents throughout November to be wrapped and sorted early December and get them ready for the charities to give out at their special annual Christmas gatherings.
Here’s how you and your business can get involved:
London Bridge based businesses are invited to host collection points for gifts and encourage their employees to contribute from the 12th November to the 10th December.
How? You can arrange for your organisation to host a collection point by e-mailing Sofia at email@example.com and you’ll receive a variety of promotional materials to help you easily communicate this to colleagues (posters, email templates, social media images, etc). Check our donation guidelines below for tips on what to donate.
Who is it for? Charities supported this year are: Bede House, Beormund Community Centre, CoolTan Arts, Time and Talents, Stones End Day Centre, South London Mission, South London Cares, Riverside Parents and Carers Association.
Volunteering Opportunities: Wrapping and more
We encourage businesses to organise their own wrapping sessions in the office, it could be a great lunch time activity for your team, or you can get this done just before heading off to your Christmas social.
You can also help us make sure all your gift donations look the part before sending them to local charities. Individuals and businesses can book a volunteering slot between 10AM and 6PM for as little or as long as you like. This will involve less gift wrapping and more gift sorting and delivering; it will take place at our community space, London Bridge Hive – 1 Melior Place, SE1 3SZ. Choose and book your slot here.
Charity Wish Lists
This year we’re keen for charities to receive more meaningful contributions from local businesses. We’ve invited them to share with us what would really make this Christmas happy for them, and they shared suggestions such as help with replacing a faulty piece of equipment or offering their service users an experience (visit to your office, tickets to a play, etc). To see the full ‘wish list’ email firstname.lastname@example.org and she’ll help with the match making process.
