MGAU lands in London Bridge

If you visited London Bridge in July, you may have stumbled across the MGAU (Mobile Gull Appreciation Unit) a giant gull shaped artwork by award winning international artist Mark Dion. 

Gulls are now very much part of the River Thames’ landscape, but often misunderstood. MGAU toured the area to celebrate the unloved Gull, educating its visitors on their behaviour, calls and habits.

Mark Dion’s MGAU sculpture was brought to London Bridge in July by Team London Bridge.  This artwork, by the internationally acclaimed artist was shared with locals and visitors alike. A team of hosts shared gull facts along with unique information booklets designed by the artist, information on local attractions and fun competitions. This project was made possible through partnership with the Creative Foundation, Folkestone Triennial, Folkestone Artworks, Potters Fields Management Trust, Ugly Duck, London Bridge Station , Southwark Council, King's College London – Guy’s Campus and Team London Bridge.
