Between November and February we carried out a consultation with businesses to find out what their priorities were for them and their staff and whether they would consider supporting Team London Bridge at the renewal ballot.

We are glad to say that we had responses from over a third of businesses, and have received an overwhelming pledge of support from the vast majority of businesses. Businesses that responded were from a wide range of sectors, from hotel and leisure, large and small offices as well as local shops, bars and restaurants.
A big thank you to all of the people who took the time to either meet with us or to complete our online survey. Your responses are helping us shape our proposals for the London Bridge area for the next five years.

As a taster, you wanted us to continue some of our most popular services such as:
1. Continue to fund extra police patrols targeting business priorities such as rough sleepers, illegal trading and theft
2. Continue and build on the successful annual events calendar, ensuring that events are inclusive and with a mixture of formal and informal networking
3. Continue and potentially expand the Team London Bridge funded additional sweeping and graffiti removal service to include weekend and holiday services
4. Continue to work with Southwark Council to ensure the area maintains it’s high cleanliness standards despite the increase in footfall from local employees and visitors
5. Continue to promote the area through the bi-monthly What’s On guide, website and the free London Bridge map and guide for visitors, new businesses and employees
We also suggested some new projects which businesses responded positively to and will therefore be included in our Proposals. These included:
• Ensure the redeveloped London Bridge station is to accommodate business needs
• Lobbying for a dedicated business Police team
• Making lasting improvements to the arches and tunnels in the area
• Maximising opportunities around the Olympics in 2012
• More promotion of individual local businesses
• Supporting businesses to form individual community impact and sustainability policies
We will be launching the new proposal at our Annual Event and AGM on 14th July. Our levypaying businesses will be sent a formal invitation to this event shortly and you will be welcome to come along and hear about some of our work over the past year. But more importantly this will be your first chance to see our exciting plans for the next five years and to ask us any questions.
Remember, businesses that contribute to Team London Bridge will be eligible to vote in the renewal ballot in October – we will be contacting you all over the next few months to make sure you have all the information you need to be able to vote.
